Where My Feet Take Me
"How beautiful are the feet of those who bring the good news!" (Romans 10:15)
"How beautiful are the feet of those who bring the good news!" (Romans 10:15)
I had to chuckle a bit when I saw this verse in today’s first reading: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring the good news!”
Yes, thoughts of a pedicure came to mind. But I soon learned this verse is referencing another verse from Isiah 52:7 that says: “How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of the one bringing good news…”
The two verses are so similar and they are referring to people who walk from place to place sharing the Good News.
That can be us. We can walk to a neighbor’s house or a co-worker’s desk, become friends, and share the Good News: Jesus loves us, died for us, and rose from the dead to save us from our sins.
We can also share the Good News with people we meet in subtle ways, such as letting a cashier who is overworked know that you pray God’s blessings upon him or her for grace and strength.
Where do my feet take me and how can I share the Good News there?
Jesus, Help me to bring your message of love, peace, and salvation to all I encounter. Amen.
