Proclaim His Love to Every Creature
"This is the day the LORD has made; Let us be glad and rejoice in it." (Psalm 118)
"This is the day the LORD has made; Let us be glad and rejoice in it." (Psalm 118)
“Go into the whole world and proclaim the Gospel to every creature.”
The Resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Easter! The most glorious time of the Liturgical year is the Easter season. It comes with a command from Jesus to proclaim His love to every creature. We remember what brought us to this octave, Passion, Death, and the Rising of Christ. In the Eucharist, we live for God's life in us to be proclaimed.
Living in the mission of Christ's Church transforms everything in us to glory, our suffering, and even death. My husband's recent health issues have brought so much weakness to his life yet he smiles and takes interest in others, health care workers, neighbors, and even at the supermarket. His cheerfulness comes from faith and a choice to accept God's will. In our suffering to bring hope to others is a grace that truly sets a spark of light, it proclaims the LORD!
"Love that is made up of union and devotedness ignites a fire that is not meant to go out but to consume everything. When you light up a hearth, its flames will absorb and consume everything. One may create a current, but this current will be 100 times stronger after Communion, because after Communion, we have the strength of God himself." (Saint Peter Julian Eymard, 1868 retreat to the Servants of the Blessed Sacrament)
Do we think of the grace poured into our souls after receiving the Blessed Sacrament?
A good holy reminder is to remember to smile.
Lord, help us to remember to proclaim your love everywhere we go. Amen.
