The Power of Words

There is so much power in our words. Simple words have the power to build up, and the power to cut down. They have the power to unite, and the power to divide. They have the power to spread love, and the power to spread hatred.
Our words matter. Even when it’s not intended, our words can cause harm. They are so powerful.
The Jewish people were waiting for the Messiah to come with great power. And He did – but His power was contained in His words, His miracles and in the Sacrifice of His Body.
You, too, are incredibly powerful! What will you do today with that power?
Am I using the power of my words as a Disciple of Christ, or as a Disciple of the Evil One?
Heavenly Father, guide my tongue. For those I have hurt with my words, may they forgive me. And may my words always build up, unite and spread love. Amen.
