Overflowing with Peace
“Fullness of peace forever.” (Psalms 72:7)
“Fullness of peace forever.” (Psalms 72:7)
“I just need some peace and quiet.” That is a common phrase we can hear or say when life gets filled and when the holiday seasons are in full swing with all of the activities and adventures. Peace and quiet is something that is attainable for us amidst all that we have going on, in fact, the Church invites us to reflect on peace for a whole week of Advent as it is one of the four pillars of Advent.
We are reminded of this in our Psalm today where we hear the words “fullness of peace forever.” The Lord desires to give us a fullness of peace, not just the bare minimum. He desires to not just fill our hearts with peace, but allow them to overflow with peace. Today, may we take the time to be quiet, even if it is just for a couple minutes, and spend time with the Prince of Peace. Let us boldly ask Him to pour His peace into our hearts.
What time can I spend with the Lord today?
Oh, Good Jesus, Prince of Peace, help me to open my heart to receive Your peace. Amen.
