Impossible Things
"You are barren and have had no children, yet you will conceive and bear a son." (Judges 13:3)
"You are barren and have had no children, yet you will conceive and bear a son." (Judges 13:3)
Our God does impossible things all the time.
So often in life we are faced with overwhelming challenges. Things that seem insurmountable, or downright impossible. I was feeling this way today when I sat down to write this mornings’ reflection. But then I read the readings, which sound a lot like the story of Abraham and Sarah, or Elizabeth and Zachariah, or even our own blessed Mother and I realized we have God who does impossible things, and not just occasionally, ALL THE TIME.
The Angel visits Zorah and says to her, “You are barren and have no children, yet you will bare a son.” Now please don’t misunderstand, I am not asking for more children, although I hope if you are asking God for that you will find great comfort in today’s reading. But I am greatly comforted to be reminded that for God- nothing is too difficult.
Looking for a new Job? God will provide the job in His time, and during the period of waiting he will provide provisions. Looking for rest? God will provide that as well, just release yourself into his arms, and be comforted and strengthened for the journey. Feeling alone? Allow yourself to be accompanied and loved by God himself who will lead you to where you need to be to find companions for the journey.
We just have to trust in his plan, wait on His timing and be open to where he is leading us.
What impossible thing are you asking God for right now?
Heavenly Father, thank you for doing impossible things. Help me to Trust in your plan for my life and to be open to where you are leading me. Amen.
