The Help of Angels
"You made him for a little while lower than the angels; you crowned him with glory and honor, subjecting all things under his feet." (Hebrews 2:7)
"You made him for a little while lower than the angels; you crowned him with glory and honor, subjecting all things under his feet." (Hebrews 2:7)
Today we are reminded that angels exist. Not only are there angels in heaven, but we have our own guardian angel as well. That's the great news, because the angels help us along our way to salvation. The bad news is that the Evil One was once an angel in heaven as well, but fell to depths where he hopes to bring us one day.
Life is filled with decisions that help determine if we are going to live in a culture of life, or a culture of death. In the past year, I've heard of two different surveys that pointed out that close to half of young people are having a hard time distinguishing good from evil. That should shock us, and remind us that we have to help our young people to learn more about the Source of light and goodness, God Himself. We do that by teaching them about, and bringing them to, the Sacraments.
Am I contributing to a culture of life, or a culture of death?
Heavenly Father, thank you for the angels you have sent. Help me today to follow Your angels and to bring others closer to You. Amen.
