The Generosity of the Lord

“In accord with the riches of His grace that He has lavished upon us.” (Ephesians 1:7-8)

I don’t know about you, but it is a moment of deep gratitude when I open an 8-count chicken nugget and find that there are 9 nuggets! There is a gratitude that comes with being given more than what we need/asked for. The first reading today is a reminder of something far greater than receiving 9 chicken nuggets!

The reading reminds us that the Lord lavishes His grace upon us. He gives us far more than what will just get us by, rather, He gives us what will continually sustain us. Today, may we approach the Lord with boldness, asking for the grace that we need. When we receive that grace lavished upon us, let’s remember to thank the Lord for His faithfulness. He is generous and He desires to give us more than what we ask for!

What grace do I need to ask the Lord for?

Oh, Good Jesus, thank You for lavishing Your grace upon me. Help me to never tire of asking You to provide for me. Amen.
