Doing Your Will
"Behold, I come to do your will, O God." (Hebrews 10:7)
"Behold, I come to do your will, O God." (Hebrews 10:7)
Today’s reading, response, and Gospel put much emphasis on doing the Will of God. This phrase is light to the ears and simple to say, but it is not always easy to live out.
Following the Will of God means surrendering our own frameworks and allowing God to paint the portraits of our lives through His Divine Providence. Surrendering to Divine Providence may require being asked to give up things like media, impulse spending on Amazon, or our own idea of control.
However in this act of trust, as is promised in today’s gospel, whoever does the Will of God is a brother and sister of Christ.
Where in my life can I turn over more control to God? What can I do today to follow God's Will more closely?
Today's prayer is simple: "Here am I Lord; I come to do your will." Amen.
