“So let us confidently approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and to find grace for timely help.” (Hebrews 4:16)

Our Lord is always waiting for us with open arms. Often, He is standing right beside us, but we are looking so far ahead that we miss His presence that's right in front of us. In today’s reading, it says “…let us confidently approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and to find grace for timely help.”

A lot of times it can be really hard to ask for help, especially when we feel unworthy, when we feel shame or when we feel defeated, but this reading is a reminder that all we need to do is take the first step in confidence. He’s not asking us to be confident without reason. He’s not asking us to be perfect. He’s saying “let us confidently approach the throne of grace” because He’s ready to forgive if we are willing to receive His mercy, His promises, His love, and His grace.

Jesus is not just our Savior but also a companion who knows our pain, our failures, and our burdens.

He desires for us to do it confidently because he understands and sympathizes with us. In our approach, he rejoices. He doesn’t judge, He just loves. He wants us to ask Him for help. He wants us to rely on Him when we need that confidence and when we need His merciful love. So today and every day let us confidently approach His throne of grace.

Am I confidently trusting in the Lord?

Lord help me to confidently approach your throne of grace. Amen.
