Spirit FM's Women's Conference Offers Meaningful Day of Reflection

This past weekend, I attended Spirit FM’s Annual Women’s Conference at Christ the King Catholic Church in Tampa, and what a special day it was for everyone who participated.

From the moment I walked in and saw the church completely filled to the brim with women from across our Diocese, there was a comforting sense of spirituality and unity. Women of all ages and stages of life gathered with one shared desire: to grow closer to the Lord.

The day began prayerfully with Mass celebrated by Monsignor Mike Muhr. In his homily, he gently reminded us not to rush through the day, but to be present and to receive each moment with open hearts and open minds. That invitation alone set the tone for the day ahead. In a world where we often move quickly from one obligation to the next, it was a meaningful reminder to slow down and truly listen.

Throughout the day, women had the opportunity to encounter the Lord in many ways – through Confession, in quiet moments of prayer, and through powerful talks from dynamic Catholic speakers like Anne Trufant, Sister Elfie Del Rosario, and Father Izzie Hernandez. Each speaker offered something unique, yet all pointed us back to the same truth: God sees us, knows us, and walks with us in every season.

One of my favorite parts of the conference was witnessing the faithful moments that were shared throughout the day – friends praying together, mothers and daughters sitting side by side, women wiping away tears during Adoration, and others laughing as they made new connections. There was something beautiful about being surrounded by hundreds of women all seeking the same thing: a deeper relationship with Christ.

I would like to thank John Morris and the Spirit FM team for hosting such a meaningful and well-organized event. I left feeling spiritually refreshed and renewed. The day served as a reminder that stepping away – even for one day – to intentionally focus on our faith can have a lasting impact.
