Members of the public are invited to a free open house introducing the Saint Leo University-Osher Lifelong Learning Institute and lecture series to be presented by Saint Leo faculty members in Fall 2025.
The open house will be 10-11:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 3, at the Saint Leo University Wellness Center, 33701 County Road 52, St. Leo, FL 33574.
Saint Leo University and the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) launched this new outreach program in January, and it is specially designed for adult lifelong learners in Pasco and Hillsborough counties. Osher Lifelong Learning Institutes are a network of university-based programs that offer non-credit courses and learning opportunities for people 50 and older.
At the open house, there will be brief overviews of each of the upcoming lectures by the faculty presenters and a keynote speech by Dr. Heather Parker, dean of the College of Arts, Sciences, and Allied Services.
The public is invited to the free open house and then to sign up for the interdisciplinary lectures on contemporary titles to be presented by Saint Leo University faculty members in Fall 2025. The first lecture will be September 16, Ireland and World War I Impact, presented by Dr. Karen Hannel. The lecture series will include Happiness Research: Living Our Best Lives, presented by Dr. Randall Woodard on October 21; Science Fiction & Pop Culture, presented by Dr. Burgsbee Hobbs on November 18; and New Testament and Women, presented by Dr. Robert Imperato on December 3.
