Foundations of Life Pregnancy Center Opens New Location in Pinellas County
The Foundations of Life Pregnancy Center is a ministry of Catholic Charities Diocese of St. Petersburg that offers free help to women in need during their pregnancy and until the first year of their baby’s life.

“Our mission is to help women who are facing the challenges of pregnancy with compassion towards their personal and unique journeys through motherhood. We hope to empower them to improve their current situation,” said Laura Ramos, Director of Free Medical Clinics, Pregnancy & Adoption Services for Catholic Charities, Diocese of St. Petersburg.
In February of this year, Catholic Charities moved its Foundations of Life Pinellas Pregnancy Center from Clearwater to 6247 Seminole Blvd., in Seminole.
“We chose this new location because of the proximity to a bus stop. This makes it accessible for women who lack transportation,” said Ramos. “The location also provides visibility from Seminole boulevard, a highly trafficked road, and it is in a centralized area in Pinellas County, close to various cities.”
The Center provides multiple services including pregnancy testing, incentive-based mentoring, and ultrasounds. It also offers maternity and infant supplies.
“The idea is to help and be there for the ladies who come through the door,” said Gabriela Galdamez, Program Specialist for the Foundations of Life Pregnancy Center in Pinellas. “Whether they have an appointment or are just walking in, we want to offer them support.”
Since the opening of the new location in February, there have been 36 appointments to assist women in need, representing 36 lives that have potentially been saved.
“If you’re coping with an unplanned pregnancy or think you may be pregnant, you may not be sure where to turn for support and the information you need to make an informed decision,” Ramos shared. But she wants women to know, “Our purpose is to help women in need and offer them support that is tailored to their needs. We serve all with dignity and are here for them regardless of where they are in life.”
Foundations of Life in Pinellas county was previously located in the Kenwood area of St. Petersburg. Then, they temporarily moved to another location in Clearwater and offered supplemental services through a now-closed Mobile Unit
