Fellowship and an Invitation to Serve

Sacred Heart Parish in Dade City held its first Ministry Fair in decades the weekend of October 25-26, 2025.

Numerous parishioners who attended the Ministry Fair, both young and old, responded to the call to serve the Parish and the community. Ministry organizers set up displays reflecting the goals and services of the respective ministries, including Liturgical Ministries, Ministries of Service, Support Ministries, Fellowship Ministries, Communication Ministries and Educational Ministries, with a total of forty-nine ministries, councils and committees represented. A brochure with a summary of Parish ministries and their leaders was available, as was registration for new parishioners who attended. While enjoying the refreshments provided by the Women’s Group, parishioners had the opportunity to meet ministry leaders, learn about the ministries and discern how they could best use their talents in service of the Lord and their fellow parishioners.

Among the displays was a beautiful replica of a Eucharistic procession canopy created by the Eucharistic Procession Ministry. Several ministries gave prayer cards and other religious items to those attending. The Caregiver Support Ministry distributed small bottles of holy water brought from Lourdes and displayed a relic of St. Padre Pio for private veneration.

The time and effort put into the preparation of displays by ministry leaders was impressive and a testament to their commitment to their respective ministries.

This gathering brought the people of Sacred Heart together in fellowship and invited them to be missionaries close to home as well as expanding their service to the Church and its people beyond Parish borders. The Church teaches us that every baptized Christian is a missionary tasked with proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ. While not everyone is able to travel to distant lands for this purpose, the Ministry Fair showed that we all can be missionaries. Many hands made the Ministry Fair a team effort to glorify the Lord and to bring His people together in fellowship with an invitation to serve Him through the Parish ministries.
