Families matter deeply to the vitality of our parishes, our communities, and to the larger Church. As Pope Francis wrote in Amoris Laetitia, “The joy of love experienced by families is also the joy of the Church.” This is an amazing opportunity for those seeking to engage parents and caregivers more deeply in their call to missionary discipleship. Families will be given formation, mentorship, and a host of resources and activities to live out their faith within their homes and communities.
This initiative offered by Goodfaith, is fully funded through a Lilly Endowment. Three parishes in our diocese are currently participating in the initiative as our first cohort – Our Lady of Lourdes, St. Frances Xavier Cabrini, and St. Matthew. Because Family Matters is grant-funded, there is no financial cost to your parish to participate.
The Office of Marriage and Family Life invites your parish to participate in the next cohort forming for an initiative called Family Matters, in the Diocese of Saint Petersburg. Our diocese is one of a few select dioceses across the country that have been invited to pilot this project.
The next Family Matters General Information Session will take place Thursday, April 10th at 4:00PM. Click here to join the Zoom call for this session.
