Catholic Charities To Provide Post-Helene Community Assistance

In the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Helene, Catholic Charities is teaming up with Our Lady Queen of Peace Church (New Port Richey, FL), one of eighty churches and missions operated by the Catholic Church throughout the Diocese of St. Petersburg, to distribute much needed basic supplies and services to members of the community who are recovering from the storm.

Beginning Thursday, October 3rd, the following supplies will be distributed from 8:00 am through 6:00 pm daily at Our Lady Queen of Peace (5417 High Street, New Port Richey) through Wednesday, October 17th:

  • Water and Ready-Made Meals (MREs)
  • Baby Diapers and Food
  • Cleaning and Hygiene Kits
  • Insect Repellant

We will also be providing the following services:

  • a laundry truck supplied by Catholic Charities USA
  • a shower trailer
  • medical services by the mission team from the Special Commission On Relief and Education (SCORE) from October 3rd through the 6th

To Participate in Supply Collection: 

Parishes and schools interested in holding in-kind drives to collect hurricane relief supplies to be distributed by Catholic Charities visit and complete this form to register: www.dosp.org/hurricane-response-collection-sites. Templates to assist with publication and promotional signs are available.

Those wishing to donate individually can visit www.dosp.org/stormupdates for supply collection locations.

Disaster Relief: 

Those able to make a financial contribution are encouraged to give through the diocesan Disaster Relief Fund at www.givecentral.org/dospdisasterrelief
