Building a Society that Respects the Life and Dignity of All

The Catholic Church provides the compassion of Christ in countless ways in the United States, including through health care institutions, schools and universities, charities and social service agencies and the work of individuals, parish communities and diocesan entities. One additional way to be the compassionate voice of Christ in our world is through advocacy.

“Our Catholic voice is important because through our baptism we are called to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and we believe that the Gospel will transform our local communities and the world. We are called to spread the Gospel, to proclaim the Gospel, and to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our daily lives,” said Bishop Gregory Parkes.

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops' Office of Government Relations offers a regular email update with statements, letters, and news related to the USCCB's advocacy priorities before Congress and the Administration.

This advocacy update includes timely information about the U.S. Catholic bishops' priorities in the areas of pro-life, religious liberty, migration and refugees, domestic justice and human development, international justice and peace, marriage and family, Catholic education, and communications.
