Annual Catholic Men’s Conference to Focus on Hope and Healing

Men from around the diocese are invited to attend the 16th Annual Tampa Bay Men’s Conference on Saturday, February 14th, at Higgins Hall at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Tampa.

The theme this year is “Finding Hope and Healing for Ourselves and Those Whom We Encounter.” Guest speakers include Fr. Dan Reehil, pastor, exorcist, and popular radio host and podcaster, and Dr. Dillon Caswell, top-selling author and elite performance expert. Bishop Gregory Parkes will be the Mass celebrant and homilist.

In a recent homily, Father Chuck Dornquast, pastor of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, noted that we are inundated with information overload in today’s world, mostly about things that we have no control over. He said, “I believe this is the devil’s work, in order to take our focus off the things we can control and to give us a sense of hopelessness.”

In planning for the conference, this very topic was at the center of conversations. It was noted that much of today’s society suffers from an epidemic of despair, especially among men and even more so among young men. But as Pope Leo XIV once stated, “Let us go to Jesus. He can heal us. He can revive us. He is our hope.”

The conference will begin at 7:00 am with a Rosary, Mass at 8:00 am, and the conference program from 9:30 am until 3:00 pm. There will be adoration and reconciliation available throughout the day.

The cost per person is $60 with a special 2-for-1 father/son combo offer. The cost for high school and college students who attend alone is $30. Clergy and other religious receive free admission. The ticket cost includes breakfast, snack, and lunch.
