Meet Kali Magnusson, the new administrative assistant for the Office of Catholic Schools and Centers.
Having experienced firsthand the impact of Catholic education, Kali is excited to support the same mission that helped shape her own life.
“I am blessed to have received a Catholic education from a young age. My Catholic education has shaped me into the person I am today.”
Originally from New Jersey, Kali attended St. Catherine School in Spring Lake before graduating from Trinity Hall High School. She went on to attend Providence College, a Catholic liberal arts college in Rhode Island.
Before joining the Diocese of Saint Petersburg, Kali worked as an admissions assistant at Trinity Hall, her alma mater. Most recently, she spent time in Florence, Italy, where she worked at a leather shop while attending graduate school.
“It was an unforgettable experience that allowed me to immerse myself in Italian culture, explore my love of art and art history, visit some of Italy’s beautiful and historic churches and, of course, enjoy plenty of delicious pasta and gelato.”
Now a parishioner at Holy Family Parish in St. Petersburg, Kali is looking forward to bringing her faith and experiences to her new role with the diocese. She sees her work as an opportunity to support Catholic education and help others live out the Church’s mission.
“Through my service, I help support Catholic education, strengthen the community of the Church and make it easier for others to carry out God’s mission. I believe God calls each of us to use our gifts to serve others, and I hope to reflect His love through my work, my relationships and the care I bring to my everyday responsibilities.”
For Kali, the opportunity to serve through her work is one of the most rewarding parts of her new role.
“It brings me joy knowing my work allows me to put my Catholic faith into action and serve a mission greater than myself.”
