“I love my role because I am able to witness authentic Christian discipleship every day,” McKeown says. “I’m continually inspired by people's willingness to share their own faith journeys through their generosity.”

Born a cradle Catholic, McKeown’s faith journey was established by her parents, but it wasn’t until after college when she truly began to develop a personal relationship with Christ.

As her faith deepened, she became more involved in her parish, volunteering at special events, weekly community meals, and fundraising initiatives. 

“These experiences helped me recognize the joy that comes from serving others and being an active member of the Church,” says McKeown.

In 2024, her life changed unexpectedly when she was involved in an accident that affected her physically, emotionally, and professionally, forcing her to step away from her role as the Director of Development at the Newport Art Museum to focus on her recovery. 

“During that difficult season, my pastor, Father Mark, and my parish community surrounded me with an outpouring of love, prayer, and support that I will never forget. Their generosity became a powerful witness of Christ’s presence in my life,” she recalls.

As she healed, McKeown began volunteering daily at St. Clare, the local Catholic senior living facility in Newport, Rhode Island, serving residents in the Alzheimer’s unit.

“Those months became a period of profound spiritual growth, strengthening my faith, clarifying my sense of purpose, and deepening my desire to serve the Church.”

In November of 2025, McKeown learned about the opportunity to join the Diocese of Saint Petersburg with the Development team and knew immediately that God was opening a door for her. 

“It was a role that beautifully united my professional experience in development with my growing desire to serve the Church in a more meaningful way,” says McKeown. “Joining the Diocese has allowed me to use my gifts in support of a mission that has an eternal impact, and I am grateful each day to contribute to work that brings people closer to Christ.”
