What Happens to Scheduled Vatican Events after Pope Francis’s Passing?

The passing of Pope Francis leaves many wondering if scheduled jubilees and events at the Vatican are still scheduled to occur. Several updates on these events have been released as well as funeral information.

Canonization of Blessed Carlo Acutis

Blessed Carlo’s canonization is postponed until the new pope has been elected and he decides on a new date.

Jubilee Celebration of Teenagers

This jubilee is still taking place in Rome April 25 - 27, expecting to draw 80,000 from around the world.

Jubilee of Youth

The Jubilee of Youth will still take place July 28 - August 3. It is still expected that Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati will be canonized during that jubilee.

The Pope’s Funeral

The Holy Funeral Mass of Pope Francis will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome on Saturday, April 26th at 4AM Eastern.
