TV Ad Proclaims, “Hope Has A Name: Jesus Christ”

The sacred purpose of the mission of the Diocese of St. Petersburg calls us to proclaim the Good News and invite all people to encounter the love and mercy of Jesus Christ.

One way the Diocese of St. Petersburg is living out that call is through a :30 second Christmas commercial that has been produced featuring Bishop Gregory Parkes that airs December 17-24 on Spectrum Cable in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Hernando and Citrus counties. The commercial (below) invites people to find a Catholic church to adore our Lord at Christmas. The video will also be advertised on YouTube.

“We all need hope and hope has a name: Jesus Christ,” says Bishop Parkes in the ad. During the video, the choir of St. Mary Our Lady of Grace Parish can be heard humming in the background. Then, for the last 12 seconds of the commercial, the choir’s angelic voices can be heard singing, “O come let us adore him.” This is the final verse of the Christmas carol classic, “O Come All Ye Faithful.”

The commercial is scheduled to be seen 300,000 times on various channels, including Bay News 9, Lifetime, Lifetime Movie Network, Hallmark Channel, and the Hallmark Movie Channel.  A radio version will be airing on Spirit FM 90.5.

The commercial directs people to visit a webpage to learn more: www.ParishNearMe.org.

“The birth of Jesus Christ brings hope to our world and to each one of us,” says Bishop Parkes.
