Here are three Catholic traditions during Advent that can help you to experience joy and hope.
- Light the Advent Wreath with your family each night. This reminds us that Jesus Christ is the Light of the World and the source of our hope. Take turns lighting the candle and offer prayers of gratitude, contrition and petition.
- Help a family in need or give from your heart to another good cause. Give to those in need or perform a good deed – this will help you find hope and bring hope to others.
- Count down the days to Christmas with an Advent Calendar that reminds you and your family of the true reason for the season. These calendars highlight an aspect of the Christmas story behind each door. This reminds us of the hope that is in Jesus Christ, God with us!
May this Advent Season be filled with hope. And remember, it is Jesus Christ who is the source of our hope. May God bless you!
