“The Source” and “Summit” Provide Opportunities for Community and Sacraments
Young adults within the Church seek opportunities to be fed – not only mentally through community – but spiritually through the sacraments. Balancing this desire with busy work schedules, family responsibilities, and other commitments can be difficult, yet many are finding ways to make it a priority.

Balancing this desire with busy work schedules, family responsibilities, and other commitments can be difficult, yet many are finding ways to make it a priority.
Within the Diocese of Saint Petersburg, young adults are setting aside time in their schedules each month to be nourished through two recurring events that provide the community they desire while also offering confession, adoration, and Mass – all essential to living a life of faith.
These events, one titled “The Source” and the other “Summit” draw their names from paragraph 1324 of the Catechism of the Catholic Church which states, “The Eucharist is the source and summit of the Christian life.” Both events provide opportunities for young adults in their 20s and 30s to unite in faith as they gather to encounter the Lord through the sacraments.
The Holy Spirit moves in a powerful way when a community of young adults can live out their faith together. The sacraments are the most vital part of the faith, and these events foster meaningful encounters with Christ that not everyone experiences elsewhere. Often, following these sacraments, participants share conversations and fellowship either at the host location or at a nearby restaurant.
The Source takes place the last Monday of every month (adjusted for holidays), alternating between St. Timothy Catholic Church (17512 Lakeshore Rd., Lutz) and Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church (2348 Collier Pkwy., Land O’ Lakes). Adoration and confession begin at 7 p.m., followed by Mass at 8 p.m.
The next Source will be held on Monday, October 27, 2025, at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Lutz.
Summit takes place on the second Thursday of every month at Our Lady of Divine Providence House of Prayer (711 S Bayview Ave., Clearwater). Adoration and confession begin at 7 p.m., followed by Mass at 8 p.m.
The next Summit will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at the House of Prayer in Clearwater.
