Seminarians Embrace a Variety of Summer Assignments
As the summer ramps up and we spend time with family and friends or perhaps even travel, several of our seminarians spend a portion of their time in a new community as well.
As the summer ramps up and we spend time with family and friends or perhaps even travel, several of our seminarians spend a portion of their time in a new community as well.
The seminarians gain valuable insights into the priesthood through a variety of practical opportunities.
These summer assignments are an important part of the discernment process for young men seeking to answer God’s call for their lives. Most will spend the summer immersing themselves in parish life. Others may be assigned abroad to a Spanish immersion/chaplaincy program and some seminarians travel the diocese to assist and participate in different events and activities.
If your parish is hosting a seminarian for their summer assignment, take this as an opportunity to get to know our young men who are living out God’s call in their lives. Introduce yourself after Mass and say hello if you see them at a parish event. Most importantly, commit to praying for them and for all our seminarians and those who are discerning.
The following seminarians are assigned to parishes in the area:
St. Joseph, Tampa – Mark DeSio
St. Joseph, Tampa – Tyler Gates
St. Joseph, Tampa – Vincent Washburn
St. Catherine of Siena, Clearwater – Mark Wegener
St. Paul, Tampa – Caleb Malec
St. Paul, St. Petersburg – Michael Santos
Christ the King, Tampa – Dakota Gates
St. Timothy, Lutz – John Paul Grabowski
Our Lady of the Rosary, Land O’ Lakes – Alex Fleming
Our Lady of Lourdes, Dunedin – Kevin Buete
Pray for our seminarians!
