October 30, 2023 | The Catholic Ministry Appeal has exceeded $8.8 million in commitments!
On October 9, 2023, the Catholic Ministry Appeal surpassed its goal with a little over two months left in the year.
"I am happy to report and share with you that we have now surpassed our 2023 Catholic Ministry Appeal goal of $8.5 million, so I want to thank everyone who participated this year,” said Bishop Gregory Parkes. “And, if you haven’t had an opportunity to make a gift we invite you to consider doing so before the end of the year because anything we can raise above goal will allow us grow our ministries in the future."
More than 20,000 households in the Diocese have made a commitment this year, and 25 of our 80 parishes and missions met or exceeded their individual goal.
"The Catholic Ministry Appeal is a testament to the power of faith, community, and compassion. Achieving our goal is a testament to the unwavering faith and generosity of our diocesan community, and it's truly a wonderful blessing that doesn't happen without you," said Michelle Mesiano, Associate Director of the Office of Stewardship and Development. Gifts to the Catholic Ministry Appeal allow the Diocese to serve the community through life-changing programs and services like faith formation for children, adults, and families; supporting seminarians and priests; and sheltering, feeding, and clothing for those in need.
All donations to the 2023 Appeal must be submitted on or before December 31. “As the year draws to a close, let us remember there is still time left to make a difference. There are still hearts to touch, lives to change, and souls to uplift,” said Mesiano. “Please consider taking part. Together, we can make an even greater impact and ensure this year ends with an abundance of love and compassion."
