The new film Broken Mary: The Kevin Matthews Story opens in theaters across the country on the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, Tuesday, October 7th for one night only.
Kevin Matthews shares his story of a life-changing encounter with the Blessed Mother through this theatrical release. In the 1980s and ‘90s, as one of the nation’s most recognized radio personalities, Matthews had everything he wanted. That quickly changed as he was diagnosed with an illness that was not only debilitating but slowly pushed him out of the spotlight. At the worst point of his difficulties, he stumbled upon a broken statue of the Virgin Mary, and his life was unexpectedly changed. It was this moment that ignited his spiritual life and showed him his true purpose. Now known as “Mary’s Roadie,” he offers inspiration and hope to others through his story.
Matthews’ witness reminds us that we are seen, known, and loved – even in our darkest moments – and that Our Lady is here to walk alongside each of us, guiding and comforting us. The film also invites viewers to rediscover the power of the rosary and embrace the suffering that unites us to Christ.
The film will be shown in our area at the following theaters:
Regal Park Place, Pinellas Park
Regal Largo Mall, Largo
AMC Woodlands Square 20, Oldsmar
AMC The Regency 20, Brandon
