All are welcome to join us for the Seventh Annual Diocesan African Mass!
This special Mass gathers hundreds from across the diocese, many with unique and colorful attire, to celebrate the African Catholic culture. The Catholic Church is made up of individuals from all backgrounds and expressions of faith. The African Mass provides an opportunity to recognize and acknowledge the unity and diversity of one of the many cultural groups present within our diocese as we worship God as part of one Body of Christ.
“We celebrate our culture, our heritage, and we are gathered as Africans to thank God for what he has made us,” said Father Oscar Unakalamba at the Fifth Annual Diocesan African Mass.
This year’s Diocesan African Mass will be celebrated at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church (10110 N Central Ave, Tampa) by Father Peter Okojie, parochial vicar at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Inverness and the chaplain of the African and Black Communities.
