Appeal Gains Momentum

Over the past few weekends, parishes across the Diocese have taken time to introduce the 2025 Catholic Ministry Appeal during Masses and invited their parishioners to lend their support.

In response to strong testimonials and homilies, more than 5,000 have already made a commitment.

The appeal provides direct support to our larger diocesan ministries that nurture spiritual life, embrace God’s call to serve and accompany missionary disciples. Recent ministry efforts include organizing and executing the KNOWN conference for more than 300 young adults, fostering cultural celebrations and worship opportunities like the Diocesan Hispanic Mass, and aiding our local Catholic Charities in serving 202,650 meals through their Shelters of Hope in Hillsborough, Pasco, and Pinellas Counties.

Appeal donations not only support large outreach and community-building events but are also directed to ongoing programs each year such as the tuition assistance program. “It ensures that everyone has the chance to experience this incredible learning environment, one that focuses not just on academics but also on building character and living out our faith.” shared Jemi Olumoya, senior at St. Petersburg Catholic High School.

The ministries and services funded through the annual appeal depend on the generous donations of faithful Catholics in all 80 of our parishes and missions. And, for the past three years the response has been inspiring.

“We consistently overcome obstacles and accomplish much in difficult times, but there is still so much more we can do,” said Bishop Gregory Parkes. “Through participation in the appeal, we have an opportunity to deepen our impact, share Christ’s love, and bring hope to those in need.”
